Chris is a senior geology major at OU. She has recently joined the SDA research group after her summer 2019 internship experience with Chevron, where she was exposed to seismic data.
Chris will spend her senior year mapping a portion of the Carnavron Basin off Northwestern Australia. After learning the essentials of seismic interpretation, including seismic attribute analysis and well ties, she will apply her stratigraphic knowledge to a Cenozoic deepwater channel system, and then perform a structure analysis of the highly faulted Mesozoic sequence beneath. We hope to employ machine learning algorithms to aid in the seismic interpretation, particularly of the faulted sequences. Chris plans to try to present her interpretation analysis at SEG 2020.
