Karen is a Fulbright visiting phD student from Universidade Federal do Ceará for the 2019-2020 school year. Karen has been working on her PhD research which uses a large dataset of 2D pre- and post-stack seismic reflection profiles, in combination with well logs to create an improved structural and stratigraphic framework in the deepwater Ceará Basin, located in the Brazilian Equatorial Margin. She is working to improve reservoir prediction of complex sedimentary systems by classifying seismic lithofacies with rock-physics. During her time with the School of Geosciences at OU, Karen will be working with Dr. Bedle to perform additional seismic geomorphology, attribute analysis, and qualitative interpretation to further her research.
