Laura originally worked as a summer intern in the SDA research group in 2019. She has done some amazing work on interpreting the Cenozoic carbonate stratigraphy in the Carnavron Basin off of Northwestern Australia. In addition to seismic mapping, Laura performed well ties, ran attribute analyses with Petrel and AASPI software, and has dabbled in some machine learning algorithms to try and improve facies identification. She will be working all of these analyses into a senior thesis in 2020, and will be joining the SDA in the near future as a MS student.
